Refund policy

American Stone Center – Return, Cancellation & Natural Stone Policy

Effective Date: 08/24/2025

By placing an order with American Stone Center, you acknowledge and agree to all terms outlined below. These policies reflect standard practices within the natural stone industry and are designed to protect both the customer and American Stone Center.


1. Agreement to Terms

Placing an order constitutes full acceptance of this policy. Customers are responsible for reviewing all product details, specifications, and policies prior to purchase.


2. Natural Stone Disclosure (IMPORTANT)

All products sold by American Stone Center are 100% natural stone.

Natural stone will exhibit variations, including but not limited to:

  • Color and shade differences

  • Veining, fossils, and mineral movement

  • Texture variations

  • Natural pits, filled areas, and surface irregularities

  • Edge variations inherent to stone cutting

These characteristics are natural, expected, and NOT considered defects.
They do NOT qualify for return, refund, exchange, dispute, or chargeback.


3. Thickness Tolerance

  • Natural stone tiles may vary in thickness by up to ±2 mm

  • Thickness variation is industry-accepted

  • Minor leveling during installation is normal and expected

  • Thickness differences are not grounds for return or claim


4. Back of Tile Appearance

  • The backside of tiles may show:

    • Rough or uneven surfaces

    • Saw marks

    • Natural voids or partial fills

    • Hairline cracks not affecting structural integrity

    • Mesh backing or reinforcement

Backside appearance does not impact performance and is not visible after installation.
This is not considered damage or defect.


5. Images, Samples & Representation

  • Product images and samples are for reference only

  • Actual material may vary due to quarry batch differences

  • Lighting, screen resolution, and natural variation affect appearance

  • Exact color or pattern matching is not guaranteed


6. Inspection Before Installation

All materials must be inspected before installation.

Once installed:

  • Products are considered fully accepted

  • No returns, refunds, exchanges, or claims will be honored

  • Installation signifies approval of material condition

American Stone Center is not responsible for installation costs, labor, or removal.


7. Breakage Allowance (Industry Standard)

  • Up to 5% breakage during transit is considered acceptable

  • Minor breakage may be used for cuts

  • If damage exceeds 5%:

    • Note on delivery receipt

    • Take clear photos

    • Notify American Stone Center within 24–48 hours

Failure to follow this process voids claim eligibility.


8. Return Eligibility

Most items are eligible for return unless listed as non-returnable.

To initiate a return:

  • Email your name, order number, and photos (if applicable)

  • Unauthorized returns will not be accepted


9. Non-Returnable Items (Final Sale)

The following items are FINAL SALE:

  • Samples

  • Custom or made-to-order items

  • Non-stock items

  • Handmade products

  • Clearance, sale, or closeout items

  • Accessories (wall plates, switch plates, trims)

  • Items marked “As-Is”


10. Partial Returns

Partial returns are not accepted.
Returns must include the entire order quantity.


11. Return Period & Fees

  • Returns must be initiated within 30 days of delivery

  • Items must be unused and in original packaging

  • A 25% restocking fee applies to all eligible returns

  • Original and return shipping costs are non-refundable

  • Customers are responsible for return shipping and insurance


12. Condition of Returned Material

Returned material must be:

  • Uninstalled

  • Undamaged

  • Properly packaged in original cartons

Damaged or improperly packed returns will be refused or denied refund.


13. Cancellations

  • Within 24 hours: 5% processing fee

  • Before shipping (after packing): 10% fee or store credit to avoid fee

  • After shipping or fulfillment: 25% restocking fee

  • Orders placed on hold and later canceled: 25% fee applies


14. Incorrect Orders

If American Stone Center ships an incorrect product:

  • Notify us within 1–2 business days

  • Provide photos

  • If confirmed, we will cover shipping and arrange pickup

Failure to notify within the stated timeframe voids eligibility.


15. Exchanges

Direct exchanges are not offered.
Eligible returns must be completed first, then a new order placed.


16. Refund Processing

  • Refunds are issued after returned material inspection

  • Processing time: 3–7 business days

  • Bank processing timelines may vary


17. Chargebacks & Disputes

By purchasing from American Stone Center, customers agree not to file chargebacks or disputes for:

  • Natural stone variations

  • Color or shade differences

  • Thickness tolerance

  • Backside appearance

  • Breakage under 5%

  • Restocking fees

  • Shipping costs

  • Final sale items

All disputes are governed by the laws of California, USA.
